Challenge 3: The right to safety and protection.
Topic 1:
We live in a place which seems to be quite peacefully and safely except for the fact that there isn’t any
larger place such as a park. And yes, this is what will make us happier and feel more secure when we
spend our free time. We like to be in parks with our friends or family. It is also a desirable place of the
children in the area to play and have fun and enjoy the freshy atmosphere.
Topic 2:
1. Explain what the causes of the conflict that you studied are:
· What was the reason for the conflict?
Russia began a slow-motion occupation of Ukraine in April 2014. In the face of insurrections by pro-Russian protesters that
spread like wildfire through eastern Ukraine, local security forces either melted away or, in some places, swapped sides
and joined the protesters. In March, Russia’s Defense Ministry launched artillery drills in the southern military district,
which involved some 8,500 troops and a large amount of hardware. It coincided with war games conducted by the country’s
Airborne Troops. Russia repeatedly denied any troop build-up on the borders with Ukraine, as well as plans to send any
troops into Ukraine.
· Which parties are involved?
Party of Regions, Communist Party, Svoboda party
· What is the present situation?
Urging Kiev to Moscow reiterates to withdraw Russian troops from the border with Ukraine, in accordance with the Geneva agreement.
Unknown persons attacked with automatic weapons. (http://www.mediafax.ro/externe/situatia-in-ucraina-kievul-cere-din-nou-moscovei-sa-isi-retraga-trupele-de-la-frontiera-cu-ucraina-persoane-necunoscute-au-atacat-un-elicopter-militar-ucrainean-la-kramatorsk-presa-12514229)
2. What are the consequences for the children in that country or region ?
Considering the fact that in Ukraine there were many dead and many children were left without parents.
Not only are they be marked and hurt, but they go on the streets in fear and they will not trust the people
they see anymore.
3.
Dear involved parties in the war,
We are really concerned about the problems you have there and understand that it is not fair and secure for those children to face up with
such methods to solve the conflict. We strongly believe that diplomacy in communication and careness for those who are not guilty and suffer
consequently must be taken into consideration far more.
We should not forget that we have to respect the conditions of living necessary for the child's development.
We are looking forward to meeting you to the peace conference in September 21st.
Yours faithfully, Liceul Teoretic "Nicolae Iorga"
